Proposed builing of Global Institute of Science and
Global Institute of Science and Technology was set up in 2006 by Indian Centre for Advancement of Research and Education (ICARE) with a view to creating high profile technical force to meet the rquirement of modern and quality conscious industries by providing quality education in the field of Science and Technology keeping pace with the fast changing industrial development in West Bengal and other parts of India for globalisation.
The Institute has excellent infrastructure with spacious classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, workshops and library & computer lab-all of which are conducive for students to achieve excellence in their respective fields. The Institute has highly qualified and experienced faculties covering areas of specialisation in order to ensure the highest level of education standards within the parameter of the rules and regulations of All India Council for Technical Education.
The Institute is
open to persons of all religions of either sex, irrespective of race, creed, casts or class and it shall not be lawful for the Institute to impose on any person any test, whatsoever of religious belief or profession in order to entitle him to be admitted thereto as a student or to exercise any privilege thereof.
At about 125 Kms. from Kolkata, in the southern part of West Bengal at the confluence of the Hooghly and Haldi rivers, this Institute is located at the heart of the city of Haldia, a major port and nerve centre of industrial activities of Eastern India. The Institute is well connected to Kolkata and Kharagpur by rail and road. It can also be reached via Raichak and Diamond Harbour. The Location of the Institute is conducive to academic enrichment of all.

1. Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA)
Eligibility : Candidates passed at the Higher Secondary Examination in the General or Vocational stream of WBCHSE or its equivalent examinations of a recognised University / Board. Candidates should have subjects like Engligh, Mathematics / Business Maths / Statistics / Computer.
Intake : 60 students
2. Bachelor of Business Administration BBA(H)
Eligibility : Candidates passed /appered at the Higher Secondary Examination in the General or Vocational stream of WBCHSE or its equivalent examinations of a recognised University / Board. Candidates should have English as one of the subjects in the + 2 level.
Admission : For both BCA and BBA(H) - through Common Entrance Test (CET) to be conducted by West Bengal Universityof Technology.
Intake : 30 students. Time of Admission : June / July
Three-Year Diploma Courses in
Computer Science and Technology

Eligibility : Candicates passed / appered at the Madhyamik or its equivalent examination.
Admission : Through systems/norms as detailed below :
(a) JEXPO examination to be conducted by WBSCTE.
(b) POLY-40 : On the basis of marks obtained in Madhyamik or its equivalent examination having 60% aggregate and 120 marks to be secored in physical science & Math taken together out of total 200 marks
(c) Direct admission : Out of 200 marks in Mathematics and Physical Science, 120 marks to be secured taken together.
Time of Admission : June / July every year.
Intake : Civil-60, Mechanical-60, Electrical-60, Computer Sc. & Tech.-60.
The hostel facilities are provided by ICARE, the parentbody of the Institute. ICARE is providing and managing separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostels are governed by the Hostel Superintendent / Wardens. The hostels have well furnished rooms with cot, mattress, reading table and chair. The students, staying in the hostels, shall be required to abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Hostel framed by the Instiute from time to time. Any violation of the hostel rules and regulations shall be deemed to be violation of the Institute discipline. Canteens are attached to the hostel to provide messing facility. The rooms are allotted subject to availability.
The Institute maintains highest standard of discipline. Students are not allowed to loiter or indulge in noisy or disorderly conduct inside the Institute campus and the hostels. Smoking or taking intoxication substances in the campus are in hostels is strictly prohibited. The students are not allowed to organise any meeting, deputation, demonstration, agitation which may hamper the normal functioning of the Institute and can create tension among the students. Any violation of the Institute discipline will lead to punishment and in extreme cases expulsion of students from the Institute is the only verdict.
